Many of you have wondered what the "chemo pack" looks like that I take home on the weekends. This is the chemo treatment I am sent home with on Fridays and disconnected from on Sundays - it injects one of the chemo drugs into my system over a 46-hour period.

After being disconnected, we made our usual trek over to Antika to visit Fevzi and, of course, Tonka. I would say that Tonka is now at least 50 pounds...

...and he chews on everything - my arm, my foot, my purse, etc, etc.

I tried the technique that Merd has been talking about. "Leave IT!!!" is supposed to stop him from doing whatever he is doing wrong. Hmmm... he simply looked around for something else to chew on. I blame it on his mama being in London - he likely listens better to Merd...LOL!!!.... He's a constant blur of motion, and he sure is fun!

Hi, Gidget
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Tonka fix. Your site has made him a star!
You look great- glad this round was easier than the others. You sure look great- nice color in your cheeks.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in about 3 or 4 weeks. For now I am really enjoying spring break- another gorgeous spring day here!
Love, Michelle
Hi Gidget,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it through round 4 with less side effects! You are a real trooper. I'm casting my vote with the rest - you look beautiful, positive and with a twinkle in your eyes.
I hope Spring is in the air in your area and that you are seeing trees budding and flowers blooming to brighten your day.
Hang in there, you are doing great.
Take Care,
from Anchorage
Hi Gidge:
ReplyDeleteI just checked into my hotel on the East side of the country (here for an ant. fair) and I spied a computer in the lobby that you can rent for one pound for 20 minutes. Bsrgain!
I am so glad to hear that this last treatment went so well for you! Are you sure they aren't adding some sort of a magic potion to your meds? I swear every time I see a pic of you on the blog you look prettier!!! For one thing you look so well rested, your cheeks are pink and your eyes are sparkling!
Okay now Gidge, really dear, it is not MY fault that Tonka doesn't mind you! He minds me perfectly well most of the time (not in public with distractions!!!). He is 50 pounds now and has put on 6 pounds since I left a week ago. Seeing his pictures made me tear up because I miss that little guy. Thanks for including them on your blog!
I am going to try to find Acey a bobby whistle for his Security outfit. That way he won't have to rely on poking them in the rear with darts like he has had to do in the past. With a whistle Fevzi and I can be there in seconds! Don't tell Acey though, it's going to be a surprise. Okay Gidget and Jay, I think about the three of you everday when I am driving around. Be well. Love Merd
Hi Gidget - I agree with the other comments, you look really great. Sure am glad that your 4th treatment went a little easier.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could tell in a blog if the change that you mentioned will continue or if they will go back to the previous "ballast" injection.
We will continue as always to keep you in our prayers and we too are really looking forward to seeing you in just a couple of weeks.
Love you - Ed and Joyce
I'm so glad you made it through your fourth treatment. You are a real trooper!! I would really like to see you in person. April is wide open for me. Just pick a weekend. You can always cancel at the last minute when you are not feeling well. You have my total support and love.
