On Wednesday Gidget and Acey hit the Fog City Diner (Acey is drawn to those old, retro diners) on the way to Fisherman's Wharf for a harbor tour on a small "fishing boat" (Acey's description). I suspect it was a little more formal than a simple fishing boat, but it sounds like it was a fairly casual affair, cheap and (probably) more fun than the tours offered by the big outfits.
They spent most of Thursday with Heidi, touring the Jelly Belly factory and hanging out at the community pool in Heidi's neighborhood.
I met the family back at our room after my conference on Thursday and, after recharging a bit, we headed back down to Fisherman's Wharf. Yes, that area is a tourist trap, but it's also fun, open late, and the trolley picks up in front of our hotel every 15 minutes. We went straight to In-N-Out Burger (again, it's cheap, good, and open late).
We finished the night at a really cool penny arcade on the pier called Musée Mécanique. We played some of me and Gidget's favorite video games from our childhood (Centipede, Robotron, Galaga), plus a bunch of antique, mechanical machines dating from the 1920's and later.
Guess what? We have three more days in Fog City, so... more pix tomorrow!

San Francisco (part 3)
My conference started on Monday, so Gidget and Acey have been exploring the City by the Bay on their own. Gidget told me these last few days have been some of the best she has ever spent with Acey... a real bonding experience.
On Monday they met up with Gidget's friend Heidi (dating back to junior-high school) to go to the San Francisco Zoo, with a quick stop at a nearby beach.
On Tuesday Gidget and Acey went back down to Fisherman's Wharf, hit the In-N-Out Burger (again), and spent some time at Ripley's Believe it or Not.

More from San Francisco (part 2)
We spent the first half of Sunday down on the waterfront. We rode the F Market Streetcar down to Fisherman's Wharf, stared at Alcatraz across the bay from Pier 39, spent some quality time with the local sea lions, munched on In-N-Out burgers, and checked out the Bay Bridge.
After recharging a bit in the hotel room, we hopped the Muni (subway) to the Giants/Reds game at AT&T Park. I thought Safeco Field was beautiful. Wow! The Giants ballpark is gorgeous, and the fans are absolutely rabid!

Checking in from San Francisco
Hello All-
We spent the better part of Saturday at or around the Ferry Building shopping, sightseeing and soaking up the local culture.
More pix tomorrow!
We're in San Francisco this week -- I'm attending a 6-day Web usability conference, so Gidget and Acey tagged along for some fun in the sun. We got here early Friday morning and we're leaving late next Monday night, so I'll get to have some fun on eaither end of the conference. Gidget and Acey are all fun, all the time! I thought I'd blast out a few photos while we're here, without much commentary. Here goes...
After checking into the hotel Friday morning we spent much of the day walking (and eating) our way through Cinatown:
