On a sad note, it seems their class pet, Clementine (guinea pig), passed away Thursday. I guess it happened during reading time. One of the girls noticed she wasn't acting right. Acey is pretty upset about it. The class will be burying her today. Acey called his Dad and asked if he could pick up flowers on the way home from work.

When I asked Ace if he wanted to go on our walk, he said he just wanted to be alone. So, I went on my walk and he went into his room. Poor little guy :(. He said he thought Clementine was too young to die, she was only a few weeks old. He said that he will write a card for her, but needed time to think about all the things she did that made him happy :).

Gidget - This one is for Acey.
ReplyDeleteAcey, if you are trying to keep up with the girls in your class for height, you might as well know that they will probably be taller for a good while yet.
Besides, you need to slow down in your growing if anything. We have all talked about how fast you are shooting up.
I'm sorry to hear about Clementine. It sounds like she gave you a lot of pleasure. She was very lucky to be in your class and have all of you care for her so much. It was nice of you to think of flowers.
I sur do love you - Papa
Gidge, you are doing great ! I'm glad to hear that you're keeping up with your exercise, can't say the same for me, since retirement, I get lazier and lazier every day. You rock those shoes though and Ed Hardy would be proud that he's taking these steps with you :0)! Maybe I need a pair of those shoes as incentive to do a little walking myself....
ReplyDeleteAce Man,it was so thoughtful of you to think of Clementine and for your Dad to stop and get the flowers for you. That tissue is never going to work, it squishes down to easily, just stand up tall and be glad that you're so handsome, who can resist that smile !!
Jay, you're a good man,I admire you for your strength, for taking such good care of your family and for providing flowers when necessary! :0)
Love you all,
Aunt Kath
Hi Gidge, Acey and Jay:
ReplyDeleteThat cracked me up when I read that Acey was trying to make himself taller with tissue paper. The Ace Man is a string bean and is growing by leaps and bounds each and every time I see him! If he continues to grow at the current rate he will be ten feet tall and make the rest of us look like midgets!
I am really sorry to hear about Clementine. When I picked Acey up two weeks ago to stay with us he was bubbling over with stories about Clementine. Once Acey was in the car he asked me if I noticed that the front of his shirt was wet (gulp, I had to admit, NO, bad Auntie!). Acey proudly told me that Clementine had urinated on his shirt right before school ended. Well, as any woman would do I said "I'll wash it when we get home" but Acey didn't want the shirt washed because it was "special pee". What a sweetheart our Ace Man is.
Gidget, I hope the next few days go well for you. Fevzi and I are always here to do anything we can. Aunt Kath, I have to say DITTO to your comment about Jay, he is a good man and I am proud to call him my brother.
Love Merd
P.S. Tonka discovered the roll of toilet paper today in the bathroom and had is strung out 30 feet while he chewed on the end before I caught him 1 minute later. NEVER turn you back on a puppy!
Hi, Acey
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Clementine. She was a lucky, lucky gineau pig to have been loved by so many children...I know it is sad when we lose a pet, especially when it is so young. You are, as usual, so sweet and caring. I bet the flowers would have meant a lot to her- she may have even wanted to munch on some leaves for a snack. I love you, Sweetie! A. Shell
