Speaking of this weekend, my Mom will be in Seattle this weekend for the Doyon Shareholder's Meeting, so Acey and I are going to stay with her at the hotel. By staying at the hotel, I should be able to sneak up to the room for a nap or to relax whenever I feel exhausted. The chemo makes me sleep a lot and feel pretty run down - especially this second round.
Acey stayed home sick yesterday. He woke up with an awful cough and raspy voice, and he told me his chest and throat hurt. I knew if I brought him to school, they would just call me to come and get him, so we settled in for the day.

Nothing gets past Ms. H, and she promptly emailed math homework home for him to complete. He really enjoys math, so we breezed through it.
I thought Acey would get better throughout the day, but he actually felt worse. Around 5 o'clock he said he had an earache, and he finally broke down and let me take him to the doctor. They said he has an ear infection and sent him home with antibiotics.
While my sickly sticky son watched Scooby Doo, I got my walk out of the way. Yesterday was one of those days when I just wanted to pull the covers over my head and snuggle up with my two kids - Ace and Daph. But that won't get me better, now will it?! My usual walking route really is beautiful - which makes it much less of a chore.

Hi Gidge:
ReplyDeleteI hope both you and Acey are feeling better. It sounds like this round of Chemo has been tougher but then so are you so fight through it and get better!
Have fun visiting your Mom!
Love Meridee
Hi Gidget - We hope you are rebounding and feeling better after you V'nd treatment. It sounds like you are spending a lot of time making craft things during your time at home. It's great to have those kind of skills and the enjoyment that you get from them.
ReplyDeleteWe have about 6" of snow on the ground this morning and have had a lot of days in the 30's and even down in the 20's this year. It has been very un-East Texas like.
We love you and will pray for you every day.

Hi Gidget-
ReplyDeleteTell Acey that Auntie Mel and Uncle Donnie hope he feels better very soon - watching Scooby Doo and snuggling with his mommy is a good cure! Have fun at the hotel with your family from Alaska - get lots of rest, too! We are going camping this long weekend - hopefully the weather will improve, but if it doesn't we will still be warm and toasty in our trailer. Don & I plan to talk long walks every day, too!
We love you lots! Melonie and Don
Ahhh, that green grass looks so nice....enjoy your walks....
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you have such a nice walk, especially when you are feeling so bad. If you are in Seattle this week, let me know and I'll come see you.
