I plan to continue walking and riding the stationary bike for exercise. That may help keep some of the side effects away.
I left SCCA with my "chemo pack" attached, which I carried around until Sunday afternoon. My little helper takes his job seriously and carries it around behind me. Makes me feel like I am being "walked" :). He is very concerned that someone will trip over it and pull it out, so he is stuck to me like glue.

The three of us returned to SCCA on Sunday to get my chemo pack disconnected. On the way there, Ace got a bloody nose. Just so happens the young, cute nurse was more than happy to fix him up with some gauze. For the past couple days Ace has been stroking the sides of his face, insisting that his beard is growing in. He asked if I noticed the beard and Jay and I agreed, it is quite noticeable! When Ace saw the nurse, we caught him fluffing up his peach fuzz... he is such a NUT!

After being disconnected, we went to Antika and saw Merd, Fevzi and of course Tonka. Tonka is of course growing like crazy. We had a quick lunch and then headed back home for the Super Bowl.

I'm praying for you Gidget. I am so proud of you for doing all the walking and the bike. I can't remember if I told you or not but my boss's wife had to take Chemo and her and a couple of others we know had a really hard time with the nausea. Someone told them to make a milk shake with Instant Breakfast. They said it was the only thing that got them through that time. Many thoughts and prayers for you and your family. And my goodness what a sweet family! I love the pictures. Stay strong.
ReplyDeleteHI, Gidge
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the three of you together in the chair. And of course Acey, Tonka and Uncle Fevzi rock! Love you lots, Michelle
Hi Gidget,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting through session 2! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hang in there!
Do they wait until all your treatments are done and then run more tests or are you having tests in between. You look so good for being sick. Keep up that great exercise! I love your little helper. Your family picture was quite funny in a weird way. I'm glad you can all smile. I hope your work has been very supportive of you. Good thing you do not work at that other place.
ReplyDeleteHi Gidget -
ReplyDeleteYou sure seem to be getting around a lot as go about taking your tretments. I like the pictures too.
Hope you got over the nausea and it doesn't return.
You said you went back home for the Super Bowl. Did you watch it with the boys (or boy)?
Love you - Ed and Joyce
Hi Kiddo:
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see the three of you again this past Sunday and I love that it is becoming a tradition. I wish the reason that you are in Seattle every two weeks was different but while it is going on I intend to enjoy it!
Gidge I hope the nausea has stopped and hopefully, like Jay said, by taking the nausea medicine in advance of your next treatment you can avoid it all together. Keep up the good work with the walking that you are doing. You will look like a speed walker soon!
I think that having the extra free and fun time with Acey and Jay is one of the most beneficial healing aspects going forward. It so nice to read about Acey's antics and how much you appreciate and love Jay. Grandmommie Beach read me the letter you wrote her (after struggling to get to the kitchen to find it). She was so happy to hear from you and sounded proud that you took the time to write her!
The latest Tonka report...he weighed 22 pounds on our scale and at the vets on the 2nd of Feb. and today weighed 27 pounds!!! How can that be possible? What a chunker butt! We spent about three hours at a beautiful park today, climbed what seemed like a mountain, walked along the shores of Lake Washington and Tonka played hard with three different puppies. Life is good these days. I mentioned to Gidget that I would cut back on my Tonka information and she said that she loved hearing about him so maybe I won't! Of course Gidge was down on the floor playing with the big lug on Sunday so she has a soft spot for Tonka like I have a huge soft spot for Acey!
Gidget, I hope the next few days are easy on you. Love Merd
