Acey and I made our journey last Friday to the Hilton Hotel in Seattle. Acey has attended every Doyon Shareholders Meeting since he was just a few months old, so I was hoping that the chemo wouldn't keep us from attending again this year. Mom flew in from Anchorage to meet us Friday afternoon, and she was a huge help in keeping Acey entertained whenever I got tired.

Acey met a friend right away and they began playing with their PSP's. Acey and I also posed for a picture with Orie Williams - Acey always makes a point of shaking his hand and showing him his latest hat.

It has been important for me that Acey see his relatives at any possible opportunity. At the Doyon Meeting we are able to see friends and relatives that we haven't seen in years. And of course Acey doesn't mind that they serve dried salmon strips :). We spent most of our time visiting, hugging, laughing and catching up. Many provided words of encouragement, thoughts, prayers and love - I was very thankful for every word and every hug.
One night we ordered in and ate in bed like kings and queens. Then when we were stuffed, we just pulled the covers over our heads and went to bed. I was able to take lots of naps and relax whenever I felt exhausted.

Jay picked me up on Monday to spend a late Valentine's Day at the Tulalip Casino Resort Hotel -- one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. The Native American artwork is absolutely breathtaking. I would love to have their Interior Designer do our home.

Jay's sister Mel came over from Arlington to meet us for dinner Monday night. We went to a place that Mel knew about in Everett called Alligator Soul - wonderful food with a Southern flair.
We picked Acey up from the Hilton on Tuesday and dropped Mom off at the airport to go back to Anchorage. Mom loved the Cha Cha Scarf I made her for Valentine's Day. And she loved the necklace/earring set I made her for her birthday. I was going to take pictures of the sterling silver heart earrings, but she had already packed them up for the trip home...

Hi,Gidget
ReplyDeleteAfter talking to you on Valentine's Day and hearing about the Doyon Meeting it was fun to see the pictures showing what you, Acey and your mom were doing. What a nice weekend for you guys!
The scarf is beautiful- next time you make one you should think about adding a string of beaded work to the bottoms- that would be gorgeous too!
Room service...you lucky ducks- there is something just so decadent about doing that! You deserve it! Hugs and love to all of you, Michelle
Hi Gidget,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you and Acey had a great weekend with your Mom. It's easy to see where you get your beauty from, seeing you pictured together.
We were curious to see what a Cha Cha Scarf is. It really looks pretty.
Well - we will be praying that your 3rd treatment will go well tomorrow and that you won't experience any bad side effect this time.
We Love you - Ed and Joyce
Sounds like you had a great time. You all look great!
ReplyDeleteHi Gidge:
ReplyDeleteYour long Seattle weekend looks like it was fun! I love the picture of you and Acey on the bed, it is really a nice picture. I agree with Daddy about where you get your looks from cause your Dad is kind of a goofy looking but your Mom is beautiful!
I hope your Chemo treatment tomorrow goes well! Just think you will be a 1/4 of the way through them already! I would love to meet the three of you for lunch on Sunday if that works out this time. Let me know Saturday night so that I can plan on being at the store on Sunday.
We are busy here trying to get our last container ready to go into the store. It arrived a full month late and our stock was down to the lowest it has ever been at the store. Tonka has put on another 5 pounds and is full of energy that keeps Fevzi and I running in circles with OUR tonges hanging out trying to keep up with him! Love Merd
You sure look happy with your family. You look like your mom! It amazes me how you keep doing things even when you are exhausted. That is so great! I love and miss you!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Laurie
Gidge,
