It's a go for round eight... plus Tom Petty pics

Gidget's platelet count was around 76,000 today. Still not great, but it should be good enough to get her through round eight. We didn't hear from SCCA one way or another, so we'll assume the best and head over on the early ferry Friday morning.

We spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights in Vancouver, BC. Partly just to get away (our exhaustion/stress levels had reached maximum density with all that's been going on in our lives), but mainly to see the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert at General Motors Place. We managed to get front-row tickets, and it was a fantastic experience... What a show! I'll post a couple pics below, but you can see the rest of them here: 2010: Tom Petty Concert in Vancouver.

Mike Campbell (the lead guitarist, for the non-fans) tossed his glass slide off to the side when he had used it for the last time. We all reached out to catch it, but it came to a stop at the edge of the stage. The guy in charge of security recognized Acey from the KISS concert and, when we were leaving after the show, he called Acey over and gave him the slide as a souvenir. What a cool deal for a 9-year-old music freak!

We'll write more from the clinic on Friday.

  1. I'm glad you have such a eventful life even in the amongst of your stress. Acey always is in the right place at the right time. I just want to come by to see all his collections. Give my love to Gidget and love and prayer to you all.

  3. Hi Son - As I told you in a separate email last night, we got in late yesterday and the first thing I did was check your site, since we were out of touch for a full week.

There's really no need to reply to this blog since I will be commenting on the other that you had posted too. Glad to here that it was a go for treatment 8.

    Love - Dad and Joyce
