We got up early Monday morning, had breakfast in the trailer ("Stubby," Acey named him - it's a 1982, 16-foot Scamp), then headed downtown to stake out our viewing area for the parade. We scored some pretty good seats near the beginning of the parade route, and settled in for a steady stream of flying candy, cute kids, cute dogs, colorful floats, and even more colorful people. I'll post a few pics below, but you can see more here: 4th of July parade, Cannon Beach.
We have already extended our stay by a day... we were supposed to head home on the 5th, but we re-booked through the 6th when we checked in. We've been having so much fun that we're now toying with the idea of staying through Friday. I took vacation for the whole week, so there's no real urgency to get home (aside from lawn-mowing and house work... like I said, no real urgency!). I'll probably post a couple more batches of pics before we make it home. For now, all of the non-parade photos are here: 2011 Oregon Coast Camping Trip.
