Finally...we are finally moved into our "NEW" home. We are about 90+ percent done with the remodel. Thanks to all of the friends and relatives that stepped in to help. Thank you...Thank you...Thank you!!!! We appreciate ALL of the work that everyone put in.
My Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rich, from Fairbanks, were here during the week my Mom came to help out. They were on a road trip to California with their beautiful new camper to visit relatives, and kind enough to stop by Poulsbo. We were even able to talk them into staying an extra day :). I LOVE them, and was very thankful we were able to visit and for all of their help.
I took some pictures of our new kitchen, which is my absolute favorite part of our new house. It truly is the heart of our home. I wanted it to be open to the living and dining room and an area for Acey to do his homework. I think it turned out perfect and better than I imagined :).
Now, we just have to unpack boxes...lots and lots and lots of boxes. Since we plan on this being our last house, we can take our time. I will just look at the little picture, one room at a time.
I know some of you have been wondering how I am feeling. As you know, I was able to get my chemo last Friday. Since I am now five days removed from treatment, I am starting to come out of the chemo fog and it's side effects :O). As long as my platelets and white blood cells cooperate, my ninth round will be next Friday.
Acey's last day of school was today (Friday). We took him to a Benihana-type restaurant in Silverdale to celebrate his last day and all of the hard work he did this year. He really worked his little tail end off to improve his math and reading this year. His teacher calls him a "marinater."
We capped off the day by going to Seattle for a Mariners game. I was exhausted by that point, so I took a little nap in my seat. Acey and Jay had a ball, of course...

Hi Gidget - It's good to see a blog from you. After all, You are the star of this show. It sounds like you are doing well. I'll bet it really was fun to have your Mom and Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rich.
ReplyDeleteWe will be up there late the night of the 1st. Even though you won't be there, we sure want to take a look inside your house. Maybe you can leave a key with Michelle.
We pray for you every single day and will continue to. Sure hope you can get in your other treatments without having to wait the extra two weeks.
Sure do love you - Ed and Joyce
The kitchen looks great! My compliments on an excellent job. Erv
ReplyDeleteHey Kids:
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to be home and have some time to get caught up with what is happening in your lives. The kitchen is awesome and I love what looks like Jadeite in the glass fronted cabinet. It's very cool and looks so nice with that big huge window over your sink and the trees outside! I can't wait to come over and see the whole place now that you have moved in.
Gidget, I was really happy to read on your blog that you have had round number 8. Just think kiddo you have most of it behind you now and I hope the next four treatments will go on as scheduled so you can this behind you. I have been in awe of how well you have handled this challenge and keep up the good work!!!!!
Gidget, I will see you on Thursday. Tell Acey I managed to sneak two big bags of the most awesome salt and vinegar chips in the world past customs (it must be my innocent face!). He is going to pee his pants when he eats these!!!
Love Merd
