We didn't expect to get test results on the spot, but we sort of did. They found two polyps... the first one was fairly low in the colon and was easy to snip/remove. The second one is much higher, and in an area where the colon wall is especially thin. The doctor wasn't comfortable removing the second polyp during this colonoscopy -- it will have to come out in another procedure. They took several biopsies of the second polyp and sent them along with the first polyp to the lab for analysis. We should know more next week --about the lab results and about the plan moving forward.
As usual, the staff at SCCA was amazing, truly amazing.
We'll post an update as soon as we have any news. Thanks!

Hi Jay & Gidget - It sounds as thought the findings were about what you would expect. Since they had found 4 polyps in the earlier procedure without being able to examine the entire colon, I had assumed that they would probably find more. Our prayer will be that the chemo has taken care of any further troubles.
ReplyDeleteGidget, I'm surprised that they let the doctor on your right wear his Mariners cap during the procedure.
Sure do love you both, and give Acey our love.
Let us know as soon as you have any results.
Love - Ed and Joyce
Everything will come out okay. My prayers are with you all. Keep us posted!!

Don't you just hate having that type of test. I can't think of anyone who would say they are looking forward to it (well except really weird people :) ) but are we fortunate to be able to have this to help the doctors. You are all in my prayers and Gidget you are in all of St. Matthew's prayers (3 times on Sunday). Yesterday the sermon from Father Scott was about our faith and if we had just the faith of a mustard seed we can do amazing things. We will keep the faith and keep praying (we already have had a miracle of sorts just having you go through so well with all that you have to). We love you and truly you are in my thoughts all day, everyday. Love you.

Hi Gidget,
ReplyDeleteYou have been in my prayers from the begining of all of your procedures. I think of you often and remember all of our childhood adventures in Rampart and Fairbanks. You are a tough indian woman and have all of your family praying and wishing nothing but love and hope for you. Nothing but good thoughts for you.
Love you lots
Travis
