Nine years old? That can't be!

We keep telling the kid to quit growing (he's long and lanky and generally teenager-like), but he doesn't listen. Acey turned nine a couple days ago. We went out to a new restaurant in Silverdale called Fujiyama on Friday -- think Benihana, only better. The chefs twirl/juggle knives, spatulas, etc. while they cook on the table-top griddle. Fun, and the food was excellent. They brought out a slice of cake for Acey after dinner and sang (oddly enough) "We will, we will rock you" (the Queen song) followed by "Happy Birthday."

Acey had a small party at the movie theater on Saturday -- Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakquel, followed by a birthday brownie:

...and a tour of the projector room. Me and Gidget have always wanted to see the projector room, so it was a win-win.

There are a few more B-day photos here.

We're off for our daily walk (before it starts raining again). Gidget has been doing a great job in getting daily exercise -- between a mile and a mile and a half walk each day. She is pretty much exhausted after her walk, but she's following her doctor's orders in terms of diet and exercise.
